Light a Lamp for Somebody
When we light a lamp for someone, it will brighten our path. We are all together, on the same planet. What we do to one another affects ourselves as well.
Teach a Man to Fish
Lao Tzu uses this metaphor of feeding someone for a day will only teach that person to be dependant. It is better to teach someone to be self-sufficient, so they can survive on their own. He was very wise and knew this extends past survival and into our daily lives as well. It is better to teach a child so they can complete their own homework than to do their homework for them.

It’s never too late to let our lives blossom into a beautiful new flower. Flowers may bloom from us, or they may not. This is not just children, the flowers are also seeds of happiness we plant in the hearts and minds of others.
Do Not Seek the Truth
When we seek the truth, or when we look for “the way”, it becomes harder to find it. It’s almost like trying too hard for something, when instead we must “try easier”. When we let go of our strong opinions and preconceptions, our stereotypes or our notions, the truth will become apparent.
