“Do not seek the truth, only cease to cherish your opinions.”
When we seek the truth, or when we look for “the way”, it becomes harder to find it. It’s almost like trying too hard for something, when instead we must “try easier”. We can try easier by ceasing to cherish our own opinions and preconceptions.
This is similar to “empty your cup so I can pour tea into it”. If our cups are full of preconceptions and opinions, there is no room for the truth to be poured into our cups. When we let go of our strong opinions and preconceptions, our stereotypes or our notions, the truth will become apparent.
