“He who knows much about others may be learned, but he who understands himself is more intelligent. He who controls others may be powerful, but he who has mastered himself is mightier still.”
We can reach a certain state of wisdom where we realize this quote, and truly understand it. We don’t have to be 100 years old, or have climbed the tallest mountain. Complete understanding of this quote does come with mental maturity. It is a greater and more noble challenge to conquer ourselves with complete understanding.
Leaders may come along such as parents, generals, teachers, mayors, managers, and be successful. Few will be inspiring and great leaders. Even less will reach such a level of mastery, which only comes with mastering themselves first. We must sit and be mindful of our mind, of our thoughts. Think about our bodies, our minds, our thoughts, and our actions. When we can master all of these things it can be very powerful.
