Each of our thoughts are droplets that are rippling on the surface of the ponds that are our minds. Every emotion is a wave moving across. We can quiesce these ripples and waves by clearing our minds and keeping still our thoughts. There is much wisdom to be found in doing so.
Too often people feel they need to go somewhere foreign, ingest something foreign, or talk to someone foreign to gain a different perspective.
Like a seemingly wrong note played on an instrument, we can turn it into the right note with what we do afterwards. Meaning, we can learn from our mistakes and benefit from the mistake.
If we were all without knowledge, or ignorant, then our government could do whatever they please and we would not even question them. Once we gain knowledge, and only then, do we become difficult to govern.
We must strive to master our own minds. When things happen in our lives, we must not give these things complete power over our emotions. We cannot let an external influence dictate whether we are happy or sad. We have the power, the ability to control this ourselves.
